Question 1: When did animal testing start?

In the second century Roman physician named Galen started animal testing.

Galen is the first to describe the complexities of the cardio-pulmonary system and speculated on brain and spinal cord function. He also wrote over 500 treatises on animal physiology. In On Anatomical Procedures he detailed actual experimental methods and identified the best instruments to perform specific procedures.
